What are the benefits of doing pregnancy strength and fitness classes?

⭐️ Improved physical strength and endurance:


Strengthening muscles and improving stamina will help to prepare your body for the physical demands of labour. Focusing on posture and stability can help reduce lower back pain and pelvic girdle pain in pregnancy, whilst strengthening the muscles will support you getting into the positions for labour and when giving birth.


⭐️Pelvic floor and core:


Essential in supporting the growing uterus and pelvic organs. Pregnancy training will reduce the chance of pelvic floor dysfunction and incontinence issues after birth


⭐️Reduce the chances of developing pregnancy complications:

 

Exercise in pregnancy can reduce the chances of diabetes, preeclampsia, as well reduce chance of labour complications and caesarean birth.
 

⭐️Improved mental health:


Exercise releases endorphins, which make us feel good. They can help to reduces stress and anxiety as well as improve self confidence and trust in your body.


⭐️Quicker postnatal recovery:

Evidence shows that being regularly active and strong during pregnancy can help you recover quicker after birth. 


⭐️A sense of community:

For some, pregnancy may feel like a lonely time. Cotswold BirthFit classes help you to build a sense of community with like-minded people in the same boat!

How does the course work?

The course is run over 8 weeks and is booked in 8 week blocks. We recommend you book for the full 8 weeks to get the most benefit from your sessions, but you may join at any time. 

If you are around 35-36 weeks when booking, then you are able to book a block of 4 weeks. 

The cost of this course for an 8 week block is £88. At check out there will be a £25 deposit to secure your place. You will then be required to pay the remaining balance of £63 a week before your class starts. There is also an option to pay in full at checkout.
